City focuses on employment

Shanghai is facing a tough employment situation this year, and all the
city and district-level departments should try best to ease the problem, said
Shanghai Vice Mayor Zhou Taitong, at a work conference on employment and social
security yesterday afternoon.
He stated that all city and district-level
departments should try their best to ease the problem by:
* Fulfilling the
task of enhancingIncreasing employment:: encouraging residents to create start
their own businesses; providing professional technical training to job hunters
and offering subsidies to the needy
* Improving the local social security
system:; providing more insurance financial support securities to the workers
who have suffered industrial injuries
* Strengthening supervision ofin the
labor market and improving a coordinated system ofin labor
relationsionship
