City raises minimum hourly income
23/6/2004 16:26
As of July 1, the minimum income for an hourly-paid worker should be eight
yuan (US$0.96), including 5.5 yuan in wages and 2.5 yuan in social insurance
security fees, according to the Shanghai Labor and Social Security Bureau
yesterday. However, with 20.92 working days a month, the minimum hourly wage
for a full-time worker is 3.8 yuan. The instability and heavy workload of
hourly-paid jobs have caused the wage increases, said an industry analyst.
