With growing
employment pressure, Chinese university graduates spend more hunting for jobs,
the Xinmin Evening News reported today. China has an average of two million
(US$24) university graduates every year, and each student spends an average of
500-2,000 yuan in job hunting. If calculated on 500 yuan each student, it will
cost domestic university graduates a total of more than one billion yuan in
seeking jobs every year. Generally speaking, a university graduate has to pay
nearly 100 yuan for making and copying resumes; nearly 800 yuan in buying
clothes, cosmetics and doing hair; nearly 1,000 yuan in transportation costs and
entrance fees to various job fairs; 1,000 yuan in purchasing mobile phones with
200 yuan in monthly call fees.
