Professionals in the automobile field have an easier time finding jobs in
Shanghai, thanks to the high demands of the local fast-growing auto industry,
the Xinmin Evening News said, citing the latest report by a local auto
school.
Bashi Auto College of Shanghai University, which began to graduate
auto majors in 2003, said this year it has 439 graduates, but has received
orders for 653 from local auto manufacturing and retailing firms such as the
Shanghai Baosteel Group and Shanghai General Motors Corp.
Last year, it had
380 graduates but had orders for 528.
Due to the rapid development of the
auto market, China is short of auto professionals.
In Shanghai, an additional
60,000 professionals will be needed in the following decade and 150,000 in the
next 15 years. Currently, fewer than 20,000 professionals are working in
the auto sector.
