People identified by the government as having temporary difficulties in
finding jobs will get financial help, according to a new social security
measure.
The help includes a 266-yuan (US$32) monthly subsidy and a pre-paid
traffic transit card, today's Youth Daily reported.
The measure, already in
effect in such districts and counties as Pudong, Baoshan and Putuo, has drawn
positive reactions, according to the Shanghai Labor and Social Security
Bureau.
Unlike unemployment insurance, this help is only a short-term
measure, the labor authority noted.
Citizens can enjoy it when they are
without work for a maximum of 24 months, it said.
