More foreigners to seek for job in city

Statistics by the Shanghai Labor and Social Security Bureau show that 65,459 foreigners applied for legal certifications to work in Shanghai in 2004, and 15,573 were registered, up by 40.2 per cent, compared to the previous year.
The 15,573 foreigners come from 112 countries and regions, including Japan, US and Korean. 
Twenty-eight point three per cent of the 15,573 are holding posts as board chairman, general manager, director of finance or personnel etc in the foreign investment companies or their standing representative offices in the city. 
Most of these foreign workers are university graduates, aging from 31 to 40.  Only 395 possess Master's Degree, accounting for 2.6 per cent of the total.
