Local employers are focusing more on job commitment, team spirits and the
communication ability of job applicants rather than the traditional capabilities
in computer, foreign language and professional knowledge, according to a
questionnaire of more than 80 local companies, today's Shanghai Morning Post
reported.
Most university graduates of recent years are the only child in
their family, so have been doted by their parents, said a teacher from an
employment guidance center of a local university. "They usually flinch in the
face of difficulties and lack the perseverance to complete their work," he
added.
According to the questionnaire, nearly 80 percent of the employers
considered it necessary to improve the education of university graduates in the
area of occupational morality. "Employers think that the frequent breaching of
contracts among university graduates is a headache, and the lack of honesty,
fidelity and a sense of responsibility wastes the resources of local companies,"
said a human resources manager of a local company, adding that sticking to the
contract regulations and keeping business secrets are the key occupational
moralities that university students should have.
