People in Shanghai will be able to transfer money on their bankcards
between six banks, as the six small-to-medium commercial banks have jointly
launched cross-bank transfer service, today's International Financial News
reported.
The transfers can be made through automatic teller machines and
online banking systems of the six banks, the report said.
The six banks
are Minsheng Bank, Shanghai Rural Credit Cooperatives, Citic Industrial Bank,
China Merchants Bank, Shenzhen Development Bank and Guangdong Development
Bank.
The service is part of a program by China Unionpay Co., a union of
most Chinese banks and financial organizations, to unite the country's payment
systems.
