Import quotas lifted

Starting next year, China will lift the existing import quotas on oil
products, natural rubber and automobile tires, announced the Ministry of
Business and the General Administration of Customs in a joint circulation last
Wednesday. The two departments also published the 2004 catalog of products
subject to import license. According to the catalog, from 2004, the country
will start to levy quotas on two more imports that will harm to the ozone layer.
123 products in five categories are under the import quota
system.
