Local banks open in festival

Nearly 2,000 outlets of 15 banks, post offices and rural credit
cooperative in Shanghai jointly promised to open business six days each week in
the upcoming Spring Festival, which will go from January 22 through 28, today's
Shanghai Morning Post reported. These outlets, accounting for more than 70
percent of the city's total 2,800, are from banks including China Construction
Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Bank of China. The services
they promised during the festival include: *More than 99 percent of the
outlets' ATM will open service. The machines in downtown area will be fixed in
two hours in case of a breakdown; *Most of the outlets will handle cash
payment for public utility fees; *English language and hand signature
language service will be availed at outlets in busy commercial areas such as
Nanjing Road, Huaihai Road and Xujiahui.
