City's banks ready for Spring Festival
20/1/2004 16:49
Well prepared, banks in Shanghai have been all ready to provide good
quality services to local people in the upcoming Chinese New Year, which will
kick off from January 22. More than 1,000 banking outlets in the city's busy
business areas and residential regions will open as normal during the weeklong
holiday. Self-service banking outlets, on-phone and online banking systems
and financing hotlines across the city will provide 24-hour
service. Meanwhile, the local banks have launched thorough mechanic checks
into ATM machines and fed them with enough cash to ensure smooth cash-telling
service and money transfers. The banks have also prepared emergency
resolutions for cross-city transfers on POS terminals, anticipating a sharp jump
in cross-city and overseas bankcard consumption in response to the soaring
number of tourists in the festival.
