Starting today, an entrance ticket to the Huangshan Mountain during peak period (from March 3 to November 30) will increase from 135 yuan to 200 yuan (US$16-US$24). For off-peak period from December 1 to February 28 next year, the ticket will be 120 yuan.
Jiuhuashan Mountain, one of the four famous Buddhism mountains in China, will also charge higher fees to tourists as of today, with the entrance ticket price during peak period increasing from 90 yuan to 140 yuan and during off-peak period rising from 80 yuan to 110 yuan.
To keep a balance, local travel agencies are asking travelers to bear the rising costs.
A three-day tour to the Mt. Huang and ancient Song Dynasty town on May 30 was 768 yuan, while the price of today has increased to 1,090 yuan, according to a local travel agency.
Another local travel agency has excluded entrance ticket prices from package tour prices.
Jiuzhaigou will also see price increases for individual travelers from July 1, and the group ticket prices will also increase from August 1, said an industry analyst.
