Despite a series of bomb blasts shattering London's transportation system yesterday, scheduled flights from Shanghai to London are still operating normally, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
According to China Eastern Airlines, as of 23:30 yesterday, London airports are open. China Eastern Airlines flight MU551, leaving the Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 13:42 yesterday, landed at London's Heathrow Airport at 1:30 am (Beijing time).
Also yesterday, flight BA169 from London landed in Shanghai at 9:19 am as scheduled.
"We haven't received any notices of flight changes," said a spokesman with the Virgin Atlantic's Shanghai office, adding that a flight will leave Shanghai this noon to London.
About 70 percent of the seats are usually occupied between Shanghai and London, according to the China Eastern Airlines.
