Data collected from local travel agencies indicates that domestic tours
become cheaper after the week-long National Day holidays, with discounts of up
to 60 percent,
A four-day package to Guilin with full-board in a three-star
hotel dropped to 1,200 yuan starting from October 7, the Spring International
Travel Service reported. The same package setting-off on October 2 was priced at
2,990 yuan, while those leaving on October 5 were 2,290 yuan, a discount of 60
percent within six days.
Five-day luxury packages to Beijing dropped from
2,430 yuan during the holidays to 1,750 yuan just after, Shanghai Airlines
International Tours Co. Ltd. reported. Compared with this 680 yuan discount, the
400 yuan discount for the Shanghai-Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong (Sichuan Province)
package is relatively minor.
In addition, prices for trips to such seaside
resorts as Hainan and Qingdao were trimmed by 600 to 700 yuan on average.
The lower prices are expected to lure latent travellers who have
more-flexible holiday plans. As an improvement on previous years, travel
agencies made announcements about their discounting-plans before the
holiday-end, rather than after.
