Domestic tours will see price increases of 30 percent on average for the
upcoming weeklong National Day holiday starting from October 1, with a maximum
rise of 50 percent, today's Laodong Daily reported.
Airfare hikes are cited
as the main reason for the price increases, especially for such popular tours of
Yunan, Jiuzhaigou and Hainan. The price of a six-day tour to Yunnan has
increased from 2,800 to 4,000 yuan (US$352 to 503) for the holiday and a
seven-day tour to Jiuzhaigou from 2,800 to 3,900 yuan.
Hotel price increases
are also a reason, with raised rates of around 500 yuan per night in Hainan.
From tomorrow, residents can start to book from 122 travel itineraries at
the Shanghai Sightseeing Bus Center, with 60 two-day, 15 three-day and two
four-day itineraries, which account for 63.1 percent of the total. Eight new
itineraries have been added for the holiday.
