Train service added

Anticipating a daily passenger volume of 1.2 million in the following
40 days, Shanghai's metro service provider starts today to add 123 rides every
day on the three rail transportation lines to cope with the spring travel rush,
the Youth Daily reported. The new schedule avails 229 more rides than on
normal weekends, the same report said. To ensure better service, Shanghai
Metro Operation Corp. arranges two drivers and a mechanic on each RT Line 3
train to help solve technical problems in time, which are more frequently
reported with the line than with the other two. For the RT Line 1, SMO aims
at smoother transition for railway passengers to the local metro system, and for
the RT Line 2, it arranges guides on each station to help with use of the city's
public transportation facilities.
