Travel agencies allowed for government tours
9/1/2004 17:23
Travel agencies in Shanghai will take the nation's lead to get
official allowance to handle tour services for governments, state enterprises,
institutions and organizations, according to the city's new tourism regulation
quoted by the Homeway.com. Currently, government official travelers must
arrange the tour on their own. Calling the new rule as an international
practice, Zhang Renliang, vice director of Shanghai Tourism Administration said
it will help provide more professional and economic tour services as well as
prevent corruption among officials who previously help arrange the
tours.
