City inspects tourism industry

Leaders with the Shanghai Tourism Administrative Commission conducted
a large-scale inspection yesterday on some local restaurants, hotels, scenic
spots and travel agencies to ensure safety for travelers during the weeklong
Spring Festival holiday, eastday.com reported today. The inspection group was
focusing on tourism firms' facilities, food quality, tourism safety, fire
control equipment, emergency-reacting program, management and services. The
inspection indicated that all levels of tourism administrative departments and
travel firms are paying much attention to the local tourism work during the
golden week holiday, with preparations work fully
completed.
