Travel boom expected in northern and southern China

The northern and southern parts of China are expected to welcome a travel boom in the upcoming Spring Festival holiday, according to the country's No.1 tourism information forecast yesterday.
Since the second day of the Chinese lunar New Year (January 23), all the restaurants and hotels in Beijing reported booking rates of more than 50 percent for three days in a row.
To date, hotels in Changchun and Harbin in the northeast of China, Sanya and Boao in South China's Hainan Province and Yulong Snow Mountain of Yunnan Province all registered an average of more than 60 percent in booking rates, especially from the second day of the lunar New Year, when the rate hit more than 80 percent.
