Holiday tour prices cost more
6/4/2004 17:31

Domestic tours will cost some 20 percent more than usual on average during the upcoming May Day holiday, according to the local tour agencies.
Prices for tours to Hainan Island will double as a result of the soaring costs of air tickets, today's Laodong Daily said.
But tours to Qingyun Mountain, Fujian Province, will cost 870 yuan (US$105) at Shanghai Tour Service, half of the normal 1,800 yuan.
Motivated by a growing local interest in travel, local tour firms will open some 10 new routes for the holiday, particularly those to such popular West China destinations as Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, according to the Laodong Daily report.
