Despite airfare increases for international flights, travel agencies in Beijing are offering large price cuts on tours to Asian countries in a bid to claim more of the summer market, eastday.com reported today.
The Beijing Shenzhou International Travel Agency Group offered four-day self-organized tour to Tokyo priced only at 3,330 yuan (US$401), including three-day accommodation fees at three-star hotels in Tokyo and round-trip airfares between Beijing and Tokyo.
The price is the lowest ever of its kind in Beijing, although tourists are required to handle visa affairs and pay food there by themselves, said an employee with the Beijing Shenzhou International Travel Agency Group, adding that the tour might be a hit to businesspeople.
The travel agency also provided seven-day luxury liner tour to South Korea at 2,580 yuan.
On July 11, the General Agency of China Youth Travel Service will offer seven-day tour to Thailand at only 2,980 yuan, covering such popular scenic spots as Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.
