Maiden tours to Europe as of September 1 are proved to be a hit to the market, with the tours booked up in many local travel agencies, the Wenhui Daily reported today.
All the major local travel agencies reported full reservations of their first tours to Europe on September 1. The Shanghai China International Travel Service Co Ltd had planned to organize one package tour to Europe, but finally found six tours were still not enough.
Traditional classic itineraries will mainly be contained in the maiden trips, with the prices not so high as expected. The Shanghai China Travel Service charged 9,800 (US$1,180) on tours to five European countries including Italy, France, Luxemburg, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The popular maiden trips have driven up the airfares between China and Europe, with the airfares in the current low season having reaching those in the golden weeklong holiday.
