The purchase of airline tickets for flights departing from the city have
soared by 30 to 40 percent on an average, as people flock to buy them on the eve
of National Day holiday, the Youth Daily reported today.
Excepting several
airlines catering to northbound destinations, all tickets for flights from Sept
27 to Oct 1 are only available at their full price. Even then, some airlines
have already sold out their tickets for the period between Sept 27 and Sept 30.
Normally, air tickets to such places as Qingdao, Guangzhou and Xiamen are
available for half the price, while group tickets to Xi'an are sold at a 30
percent discount.
Being an ideal time for family
reunions and tours, the week-long National Day holiday usually boosts
travel.
