In just 3 hours, airfares from Shanghai to Beijing and Shanghai to Taiyuan quickly returned from discounts of 80 percent to a normal discount of 10 to 20 percent, the Youth Daily reported today.
On the day after the Baotou plane crash, a flight from Shanghai to Beijing cost only 230 yuan (US$ 28).  Even that low price could not help much to fill the seats of the airline companies.
Analysts points out that November is a low season for the aviation industry.  As well, many passengers cancelled their trips or turned to the railway after the plane crash, which made the low-prices in vain.
