Upbeat about the rising numbers of railway travelers, the Shanghai Railways
Bureau plans to begin a new tourism train service to the scenic resort of Mt.
Huangshan, in Anhui Province at the end of this month, today's Shanghai Youth
Daily reported.
The first ride, a four-day cross-year journey, will leave the
city on Friday night December 31, and return on Monday morning, January 3.
As
well as climbing the mountain and seeing the picturesque winter views, travelers
will enjoy other tourist activities such as tea-making arts.
The weekend ride
is believed to be more attractive to office workers as they do not need to ask
for long leaves to make the trip.
The railway bureau has opened the hotline
63250169 for the new service.
This is a second tourist train service the
local railway travel company has begun, following one for Mt. Wuyishan, in
Southeast China's Fujian Province.
The Mt. Wuyishan service has been very
successful as the rides have been fully sold out, according to the bureau.
