Shanghai and Beijing have been selected, on an experimental basis, by the
German tourism bureau to be the first cities able to offer a German freedom
package to Chinese travelers next year, today's Oriental Morning Post
said.
Xu Shengli, representative of the German Tourism Bureau in China,
revealed during the China International Tourism Fair that, with help from German
Embassy, they will launch a freedom travel package aimed at white-collar workers
who have a good command of German or English and are experienced in foreign
travel. A package including air tickets, accommodations and tourism
souvenirs will be available soon, Xu added.
Local travel agencies think the
introduction of the German freedom travel package will not be a threat to their
businesses.
