Eying the potential of the travel market in Eastern Europe, China Eastern
Airlines Co. will begin non-stop flights to Moscow, Russia, in April, reported
today's Oriental Morning Post.
"The opening of non-stop flights to Moscow is
one of the significant targets for our company to increase revenue from tourism
this year," indicated Tian Dawei, director of sales and marketing for China
Eastern Airlines Co, who appears at this World Travel Fair 2005 as an official
aviation company of the city.
The increasing number of tourists rushing to
Eastern Europe is creating a demand for huge passenger capacity. A survey
conducted by China Eastern three months ago shows that 60 to 70 percent of the
passengers in each airplane flying to Moscow are
tourists.
The company is also preparing to open
other non-stop flights to Frankfurt, Germany, in 2006.
