China received a total of 69.02 million travelers over the just ended
weeklong Spring Festival holiday, an increase of 9.1 percent from a year before,
with a total tourism revenue of 31.3 billion yuan (US$3.77 billion), up 8.1
percent from the previous year, today's China Youth Post reported.
Among the
69.02 million travelers, 17.32 million stayed in hotels or lived in guesthouses,
and 51.7 million were on one-day tours.
Thirty-one key tourism cities such
as Tianjin, Wuxi, Suzhou, Huangshan, Xiamen, Guilin, Haikou, Xi'an and Yinchuan
received a combined 29.55 million tourists during the holiday, bringing in 14.3
billion yuan in revenues.
Among the 31.3 billion yuan in tourism revenue,
1.85 billion yuan came from the civil aviation transport sector and 1.67 billion
yuan from the rail transport industry.
Tourism expenditure reached 453 yuan
per capita during the holiday. More than 90 percent of travelers were satisfied
with their trips.
