Fashion retailer Anne Fontaine has recently opened its first boutique on the Chinese mainland in Shanghai's Xintiandi district, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
With a total area of 120 square meters, the boutique sells only white blouses--except for a few pink and black ones--at prices ranging from 1650 yuan (US$200) to 10,000 yuan (US$1,200). All the garments are produced in and shipped from France.
The company has signed a four-year lease with the landlord for the Xintiandi store and plans to open a second boutique on the Chinese mainland in two years.
Established in France ten years ago, Anne Fontain is a famous women's fashion retailer with about 70 stores throughout the world.
