Father's Day, this Sunday, might be ignored by all but shopping buffs.
The
festival, on the third Sunday of June, was previously far less significant than
Mother's Day, which is a month earlier. This year is no exception.
Many
department stores consider Father's Day only an excuse for promoting sales,
offering discounts on commodities specially for men.
Father's Day should be
a day when people give a blessing to their fathers, rather than being regarded
as a business opportunity, said an industry analyst.
