Sa Sa International Holdings Limited, Asia's largest cosmetics retailer and
beauty services group, will open its second store in Shanghai by the end of next
month, today's Shanghai Evening Post reported.
After opening its first store
on Huaihai Road at the end of last March, Sa Sa's second store will be located
inside the Hong Xiang Department Store on Nanjing Road West. The fashionable
female-oriented Hong Xiang is expected to bring customers to the new
400-square-meter Sa Sa store, said Macy Leung, director of corporate
communications with Hong Kong Sa Sa.
The new store will introduce more
professional skin-care brands from overseas, most of them not being global
brands and therefore unfamiliar as yet to consumers from the Chinese Mainland,
Leung said. Brands under Sa Sa's private labels or by Sa Sa as sole agent are
expected to account for 30 percent of all the brands available there, up 20
percentage points from currently.
Sa Sa is in the process of selecting the
site for its third store in Shanghai, which will open by the end of the year,
and plans to open 100 stores on the Chinese Mainland within five
years.
