Upon the expiration of its contract with the Grand Gateway,the Maga Department Store will leave the Mall where it has been for 5 years, announced senior officials from the administrations of the Grand Gateway.
As the only branch of Maga Department stores of Taiwan opened in the city, this decision to leave indicates that the retail giant will quit the local market comletely as it has not indicated any intention of opening another branch store here. 
"By the middle of next year, other several renowned brands will open their chain stores in the location where Maga used to be," said the Grand Gateway.
"We will continue after-sale service for shoppers of Maga Department after it closes," added the spokesman.
In many international metropolises, the retail merchandise industry is experiencing great competition amoung big supermarkets and shopping malls.
