Ten of Shanghai's fair-price drugstores formed an alliance yesterday to
promise the public high quality and low prices, today's Laodong Daily
reported.
It is rare in the city for these ten competitors, such as Kaixinren
and Yifeng, to establish an alliance of trust, said an industry analyst.
They
promised to stick to high quality, low prices, offer scientific guidance for
patients, improve service standards for customers and improve the local
competitive environment; while banning counterfeit products, false ads or
promotions.
Spokespersons for the ten drugstores said they are expecting
strict supervision from local citizens. In a market economy, they said, it is
likely there will be temporary difficulties, but a loss of faith cannot be
forgiven.
