Bolstered by the
rising digital zeal of domestic consumers, sales of MP3 players in China are
expected to continue to grow at the same fast pace as at the beginning of the
year. Sales are expected to hit 3 million, today's Eastday.com
reported.
In the first six months, 1.41 million MP3 players were sold,
with the revenue adding up to 1.13 billion yuan (US$137 million) nearly triple
and double respectively the volumes of a year before.
Overseas brands,
such as Samsung and Apple, are dominating the upper end market, while domestic
and joint-venture brands, including Legend and Benq, are leading the
middle-range market. More than 100 domestic companies are competing for the
lower-end market.
