Stroke sufferers can get their nerves regenerated, according to a stroke treatment breakthrough made by the Huashan Hospital and the US-based Buck Center for Research in Aging.
The achievement, made after two-years of effort, was posted on an online version of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA on August 21.
The number of stroke sufferers accounts for nearly one percent of the global population. In China, there are 1.95 million new stroke suffers every year, which leaves nearly half disabled and causes the death of 1.56 million.
