Residents seeing doctors in the city's community health service centers
can enjoy whole or partial exemption of their registration and treatment costs,
said Li Zhirong, director of the Shanghai Health Bureau at the 31st session of
the 12th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee
yesterday.
Reforms on community health services will be conducted on a trial
basis in eight districts - Pudong, Minhang, Luwan, Xuhui, Jing'an, Baoshan,
Huangpu and Jiading, and will cover more areas next year.
Residents who are
covered in the local medical insurance system will have the exempted costs paid
by the local medical insurance fund. Those who have signed agreements with
community health service centers can save 50 percent of the costs they paid for
seeing doctors at local second or third-level hospitals.
Retail drug prices
in communities will also be reduced.
