Shanghai will build a hospital in the northwestern Songjiang District
to serve as an emergency medical care center, today's eastday.com
reported.
The 400-million-yuan (US$48 million) center, complete with an
emergency helicopter pad, will be the first of its kind in the city.
With
an area of 140,000 square meters, it will provide 600 beds after completion of
the first stage of construction, with full completion expected before
2005.
Located close to the neighboring provinces of Zhejiang and Jiangsu,
the center will also provide inter-provincial emergency medical
services.
