China's largest drugstore, Te Bie Da Drugstore, opened today in
Guangzhou, east China's Guangdong Province.
The 100-million-yuan (US$12
million) supermarket-like store is open around-the-clock and provides medical
consulting service for free.
With an area of 6,800 square meters, the
store covers three floors and sells more than 12,000 medicines and medical
devices.
Low price and good service are the key strategies of the store
to beat fierce competition in Guangzhou, a city of 4,500 drugstores, according
to its general manager Chen Jixiang.
He said most of the products at his
store are cheaper than the average market price, with some as much as 35 percent
cheaper.
