Insurance open to discount drugstores
14/11/2003 18:19
Twenty-seven drug stores in Shanghai including discount drugstores
such as Kaixinren and Riye, are among the fifth batch approved to collect
payment from China's medical insurance system, the Shanghai Morning Post
reported today. There are currently more than 80 local drugstores allowed to
collect charges from the domestic medical insurance system. The new
expansion policy will mainly support discount and chain drugstores bringing more
convenience to local residents. Discount drugstores included in the insurance
plan can help lower medical insurance fund expenditures and enhance local
medical reforms, said an industry analyst.
