Using Harvard Medical School’s top-grade management techniques, skills and
talents, Huashan Hospital is preparing to establish an international united
hospital, the Shanghai Morning Post reported today. The united hospital will
be launched by the second half of the year, and it is expected to become the
16th of its kind around the world that is affiliated to Harvard Medical School,
according to the third International Symposium on Medicine in the 21st Century
held yesterday. "We plan to invite the experts of Harvard as academic or
counseling directors of the hospital," said Xu Jianguang, chief with Huashan
Hospital, adding that these experts will be evaluated according to their
capabilities in attracting patients, fostering talents and performing quality
medical services. Highly-qualified personnel of Harvard Medical School will
be recruited to act as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of
the united hospital, and young experts and academicians will be sent to Harvard
for overall and systematic trainings, Xu pointed out. The diagnosis process,
medical service ideology, management modes and medical environment layout of the
new hospital will meet the international service standard in a bid to satisfy
the high-end requirements of patients, Xu stressed. Huashan Hospital is
currently making full preparations for the construction.
