The new clinic & emergency building at Huashan Hospital, attached to
Fudan University, opened yesterday, Wen Hui Bao reported.
The new building, with 30 separate waiting rooms and 220 single examination
rooms, is double its original size.
Treating patients as a priority is the main service concept in the layout of
the new building.
Emergency areas are separated into three main sections, each with a special
entry. One is for ordinary emergency use, where examing and registration
rooms are within 10 meters of the entry. One is for ambulance use. If
necessary, the ambulance can drive directly into the first-aid room through a
special corridor. The last one is for the severe accidents. The
entry area to this section is equipped with a disinfection system.
The clinic occupies 15 floors of the new building, each floor with its own
registration and fee collection facilities.
