Local pharmacies have finally won approval from the State Food and Drug
Administration (SFDA) to sell erectile dysfunction (ED) drugs, today's Shanghai
Morning Post reported.
"We've got the SFDA's sanction and will begin
marketing the drugs soon after the National Day holiday," said Wang Yan, an
official with Shanghai Food and Drug Administration.
However, only those
pharmacies with Good Supply Practice certifications (GSP), the standard set by
the FSDA, will be authorized to offer the ED drugs. As well, ED drugs will be
only available on prescription and must be sold under the supervision of a
pharmacist.
