Sixty-five qualified mental health consultants will offer free mental health
services to more than 20,000 young adults aged 16 to 25 in Pudong, Xuhui, Luwan
and Zhabei districts, Jie Fang Daily reported.
The 65 volunteers will not only provide free mental health consultation and
vocational guidance for young adults in the communities who are out of work or
unable to go to school, but will also offer suggestions to community staff on
affairs related to young persons.
There are presently 514 staff working with the young adult community in 19
districts in Shanghai. They are very often over-whelmed by certain
difficulties because they lack knowledge and skills in psychology. Access
to these experts on mental health will help to compensate for these shortages
and help the youth to enjoy better lives.
