Experts pointed out that as an oversized metropolis, Shanghai should establish a natural disaster reduction plan as soon as possible, in order to face the 10 "future disasters" that haven't frequently occured. This was mentioned at the commemoration of the International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction yesterday.

The 10 "future disasters" that the citizens are cautioned against are: wind-induced disasters, floods, earthquakes, fires, aging-building-induced disasters, geological disasters, potential city environmental disasters, chemical accidents, communication information disasters and the disasters lurking underground, etc.
