Shanghai Health Supervision Agency targeted migrant workers this week with a
food safety education program and tougher inspections at wet markets and
construction sites.
The agency reported 15 cases of food poisoning at construction area
cafeterias involving 413 victims since 2000. The agency has punished 56 stall
owners and confiscated nearly 400 kilograms of substandard food at local wet
markets since August.
