Cold wave doesn't bring winter

The cold wave that arrived four days ago is not strong enough to bring a continuous five-day period of average daily temperatures below 10 degrees centigrade.  That means winter is still waiting outside the city, the local observatory claimed today.
A merely 1.2 degrees centigrade decline in the highest on December 7 results in the temporary pause on the coming of the winter.  A slow hike in daily average temperature will further prevent the approach of winter in the next few days, with the high of 15 and low of 6.
Another cold wave arriving tonight or tomorrow in the early hours of the morning will mainly impact on the northern areas along the Huaihe River.
A local weather expert states that it's still too early to say that winter will arrive late this year, compared with last year's December 11.
