Medicine factory has ensured ample supply for the meningitis vaccine, eastday.com reported today.
Lanzhou Biochemical Institute, the only medicine factory in China which can produce C-type meningitis vaccine, told the media yesterday that it had adjusted its production line to be churning out 350,000 to 400,000 vaccines per two days for the time being.
"Such a production, plus regional backup of some 1.2 million (vaccines) scattered in all the provincial health centers, is sure to meet the huge demand,"  the institute believed.
Lanzhou Biochemical Institute started to produce and market C-type meningitis vaccines in 2002, soon after China detected the first group of victims. With an annual supply of 20 million to 25 million vaccines, the institute has so far helped some 50 million patients in more than twenty provinces in China.
