With Children's Day approaching, parents are worried about disappointing
their children as they don't know where to entertain them, today's Youth Post
reported.
"My daughter is only two years old and she likes to visit insects
and plants, but no parks offer such exhibits," said Wang, adding that most park
activities are unsuitable for two-year-old children.
Only a few parks in
Shanghai have arranged activities specifically for children, and few activities
are innovative and eye-catching.
The Changfeng Park is holding a Disney Lamp
Festival which began with the May Day holiday, but the programs are tedious. It
costs at least 200 yuan for a family of three.
The Mummy's Return Theme Park
at Zhongshan Park is entertaining, but the horrible games are not suitable for
children, said an industry analyst.
Many entertainment facilities in
children's parks are dilapidated, so many children prefer to play computer games
or have dinner at such foreign fast-food chain stores as KFC, McDonald's and
Pizza Hut to celebrate their festivals.
Xiao Wei, an eight-year-old boy, is
reluctant to go to parks with his parents for this year's Children's Day. " I
want to capture insects, watch flowers and play with mud with my friends, but my
parents won't allow me to do that," Xiao Wei said.
"It is natural for
children to touch nature, but I am afraid he will catch diseases from so much
bacteria outside," said Xiao Wei's father, adding that parks are expected to
offer safe and natural places for children.
