At least 15,000 former students are expected to return to Fudan University this month to join the centenary celebrations. With the "Classmates Returning Month" starting September 1, a growing number of former students have been gathering at the university's Handan campus to recall past days.
"We receive between 30 and 40 calls from former students nearly every day, seeking information about the scheduled ceremonies," said an employee with the special hotline service set up specifically for the grand event, adding that the number of returnees will reach its peak on September 24, with the grand ceremony.
Hotels around the school campus have nearly all been booked up from September 22 to 24.
A series of activities to mark the centennial year include a celebration ceremony, an academic forum, international conventions and student society activities.
