The prestigious Fudan University will open a BBS room on its website, every Tuesday afternoon from next month, to give depressed students a shoulder to cry on when they want to vent their emotions, such as crying, grumbling or just to talk about their unpleasant experiences and pains. A qualified psychology tutor will preside over the forum.
The project, initiated by Fudan University's student councellor's association last June, has initiated three forums so far, with the topics of "cherishing people around you," "how to deal with social interaction" and "campus culture," which were well accepted, said Xia Kejia, head of the student's affairs department at the university. During past trial periods, the website received many page clicks and attracted a lot of attention.
University authorities approved the project, lauding it as "protecting privacy while solving psychological problems."
